The Redtail Scad makes for a good bait fish when targeting XXXXXXXXXXX.
The Redtail Scad is characterized by a green to tan topside fading at a breaking lateral line to a lighter underside. His dorsal fin is not rounded and overall he is shaped like a cigar with his fins being a definite reddish color.
These fish are found from nearshore waters all the way to the open sea.
Tipped jigs with shrimp or cutbait on a trot line work the best when targeting these fish.
