The Pinfish is charaterized by a football shaped body that is overall silvery with a greenish hue upper with indiscernable darker vertical stripes. A large dark spot behind his gills and yellow horizontal stripes with sharp spines on his doral, a soft tissuey jaw and a forked tail.
These fish are found along shallow waters in large numbers when small and deeper waters when cold outside and when larger, most likely hanging around rocks or structure.
Small pieces of shrimp and cutbait make for the best natural bait while occaisional hitting small jigs, when presented well.
