Sea Bream

AKA: Golden Pinfish / Golden Shiner / Chopa Amarilla / Salema Family: Porgy

Sea Bream
Water: Salt/Coastal Waters Where: Offshore / Surf / Inshore
Size: Most common at under a pound but large fish may top off at a pound or so.
Fight: Fight is determined but limited due to its size, a fun fish to catch on lighter tackle.
Deliciousness: Decent Panfish
Range: Both Coasts Technique: Drifting / Still Fishing
Baits: Shrimp / Baitfish / Squid Tackle: Spinning / Baitcasting

The Sea Bream is characterized by a more compact and lighter markings than his cousin the pin fish, an overall silvery body with lighter yellow stripes and a grey faded spot with a spined dorsal fin.

These fish are found in shallow waters with rockybottoms or around jetties and seawalls.

Live shrimp, shrimp pieces and cutbait make for the best natural bait , while w well presented jig makes for the best artificial bait although not typically fish for with artificials.
