Pigfish Specifications


Water: Salt/Coastal Waters Where: Surf / Inshore
Size: Most common at well under a pound.
Fight: The lighter the gear the more fun to fish for. For his size a decent pull.
Deliciousness: Good Panfish
Range: Both Coasts Technique: Drifting / Still Fishing
Baits: Shrimp / Baitfish / Crab / Sand Fleas / Squid / Lures Tackle: Spinning / Baitcasting

The Pigfish is charecterized by a light grey body with a blue upper and yellow stripes along his flnak, with yellow fins and a larger yellow forked tail.

These fish are found along patchy and muddy waters with graqss or dropoffs in shallower water.

Shrimp pieces and cut bait make for the best natural bait, while jigs or plugs make for the best artificlal bait.
