The recent rains cooled things down, but the Gulf waters were stirred up a bit. Once they waters cleared up, it was business as usual and fishing was good. The Redfish bite has been good throughout the entire region. The fish are there, but we are only seeing 1 - 2 fish at a time. Target the typical locations with a combination of mangroves, oyster bars, and Mullet. I like cut Mullet, but a Pinfish ...full report

Saturday morning the plan was simple, find one of several big schools of large Redfish roaming the Ft. Desoto area. The east winds blowing 15 mph made sight fishing a nightmare so I abandoned that plan and looked to get out of the wind. A quick run to the eastern shoreline paid big dividends quickly. I ran smack into a large school of Jacks in 3-5 pound range. It was game on for over an hour with ...full report

capt josh31 Redfish8-20-2010 Hernando BeachThe inshore action was great this past week. We did great on HUGE Redfish, the only day I did not fish was Monday, but I made it out each morning until around Noon. The Reds are in schools of 2-8 per school and most of the Reds are over the slot 29-33”. I took out 2 kids for there first time and they both caught huge Redfish. The hot bait for me is cut pinfish ...full report

I was back on the water Wednesday after the sudden passing of my Mother. Mom was so proud of the charter business I’ve built. Today’s trip started on the flats adjacent to the Skyway Bridge gathering bait. It was an exciting adventure as my first toss of the cast net was loaded with great White Baits and a 3’ Shark! He was not happy! Bait was so thick you could walk on it. Good friend Captain ...full report

Captain Keith Tomlinson23 Inches Troutsummer 2010 Hernando BeachThe weather made it tough to get on the water earlier in the week, but it did cool the gulf waters down a bit. The back country fishing was a little slow last week, but we were able to boat some nice Reds with a little patience and persistence. The run off from the recent rain fall made the Nature Coast waters "murky". We had ...full report

My son-in-law and I went fishing yesterday and were in about 8-10 feet of water. We decided to use new Penny jig head with 3" gulp shrimp instead of live srimp for a change. We started getting hits rights away. We did try one live shrimp and never got a hit on it. We ended up catching 4 Trout, 5 Black Sea Bass, a lizard fish and a Catfish. None were keepers. We fished for about 2.5 hours ...full report

My father-in-law and I were fishing near the bridge, it was about 7:30pm and cool. We started catch Mangrove Snapper just as fast as we could put our lines into the water. We fished for about an hour and end up with 18 Snapper and the sizes ranged from 14 inches to 19 inches. We have been back to the same location at the same time and were luck to get one legal Snapper. But we had a ball and man ...full report

We went out at high tide on Wed. 18th, about (9:AM) went about 3 miles west of the condos, then south toward Leisure Beach and drifted north in the grass in average of 5 ft of water. We got plenty of short Trout, a few keepers and lots of Ladyfish, Grunts, some Shark, and of course Whisker Trout, (Catfish). Fished plastic and live shrimp. As long as we stayed in the grass the bite was on, as soon ...full report

Went grouper fishing on the Blue Dolphin yesterday. I caught many a grouper. Problem was they were all short, I kept getting 20, 21 inchers. At the end of the day I think there was about 5 keeper Gags total, 6 mangrove snapper and alot of grunts. I took home two decent mangrove snapper. As always Capt. Mitch and crew of the Blue Dolphin did an awesome job. The Blue Dolphin goes out of the ...full report
