Anna Maria Island March 2 Fishing Report Wow, what a couple of days make. The weather has turned for the better and the 10 day forecast is sunny everyday and in the 70’s; it may even get into the 80’s a few days. We had decent fishing this past week, but we had to work for it with the cold, windy and foggy weather. We still made it happen though. We even landed a Snook just shy of 40 inches ...full report

Crystal River And Homosassa Fishing Report

Capt Kyle Messier

I’m happy to report that there is NO Snow here in Crystal River, FL and I for one wouldn’t know what to do if I did encounter some of that white stuff. Many of my northern customers tell me that snow is extremely beautiful and a blast to play in. I can’t help but think that this is the denial coming out for those that have not seen the sun in days and in some cases even weeks. Although the ...full report

Tampa Bay Fishing Report 2/12/15 Reel Till U Feel Charters fishing report for Tampa Bay. Fishing Tampa Bay has been pretty good when you can make it out do to the cold fronts and the wind. The Black Sea Bass have been hitting Live & Cut Bait along with jigs, bouncing them on the bottom around rock piles. Silver Trout are holding in the deeper water channels, Small Shrimp and Jigs have been the ...full report

Tampa Bay February Fishing Report Hello everyone, captain Matt here from Anna Maria Island. Well I guess I spoke too soon on my last fishing report, I knew I was going to jinks it. Seems like winter has finally come and that happens sometimes in February. I had to adapt my strategy a little to accommodate the cooler water temperature that seems to be hovering around the low 60s as of lately.  ...full report

Tampa Bay Feb 23 Fishing Report Anna Maria Island fishing remains strong as usual. You know I say that because it’s just the simple truth. It doesn’t seem to matter how cold it gets, how hard the wind blows or how bleak the situation looks. We always catch plenty of fish around here. I can’t tell you how many times I rode out 25 and even 30 mph winds in strong cold fronts with gung-ho fisherman ...full report

HERNANDO LAKE In Hernando Fl

caseycourterier

I am new to the area, and have not had much time to fish the lake, but in the past three trips I have been killing the jumbo Bluegills and Black Crappie. I am originally from Northern Michigan so that's what we call them. I think down here they may be called Bream and Specs, I'm not sure though. On 2/15/13 I caught 12 gills the largest on was 12.5 inches long and 6.75 inches from top to bottom. ...full report

We took our kayak out on the Anclote River for some morning fishing. Bites were steady from 6:30 AM until 8:30 AM. We were landing keeper Mangrove Snappers with live shrimp on a cork. We also landed a small Flounder and 6lbs. Sheepshead using Gulp® Sand Fleas on a red jig. From 8:30AM until 10:30AM, action stopped dead, other than pinfish and other small fish stealing our bait. As we were reeling ...full report

Venice South Jetty To Englwood

Richie

My clients in the Venice beach area have brought news of Blacktips along the beaches. The largest one this week I have seen was 3 feet long, caught on live shrimp. Large Flounder, the biggest one 20 inches are also along the beaches. The best technique I know and heard used this week was using pieces of squid cut into strips and then threaded onto a jig head, bounced off the bottom with a lift-pause-reel, ...full report

Early evening, watch near rock piles and lighted areas such as bridge bumpers where these fish have been holding. Top water baits resembling small Baitfish are the most effective for night time. Pasco County Florida

Pasco County waters have been heating up, with a number of King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, and Trout being caught in virtually any depth of water. The tides have been strong, and so has the bite on live and artificial baits. Movement of the bait has been the key to targeting different species. Faster movements with flashy baits will produce the Kings and Spanish. Slower movement on the top ...full report
