West Lake Toho

The bass in West Lake Toho have begun their summer pattern and you can find lots of fish in open water. Look for them to school right after daylight. and throughout the day if conditions are right. The ones we ran into were a little on the small side but what they lack in size they make up in numbers and enthusiasm. Any bait that mimicks a small bait fish will get you hookups and for some fun try going ...full report

The fishing on East Lake Toho remains steady with schooling bass busting bait in the morning and evening, It has been some great topwater action and when they quit hitting on the top we were able to continue catching them on plastic worms near and in the reeds. They seemed to prefer Redbug or Red shad colors. Monday I noticed we had a mayfly hatch going on. This is the time of the year to break ...full report

The Bass on West Lake have moved to the outer edge of the grass and out into the lake over submerged hydrilla. They are still hitting live shiners. Guides are not seeing the numbers that we had last month, but still getting bit , especially early and late in the day. Shellcrackers are biting good in both lakes. We have been on East Lake 4 or 5 times the last week or so and things are starting to change a little. Bass are on the outside of the grass line in a little deeper water and out from shore around the matted grass islands. Soft plastics seemed to be what they wanted in the Junebug and Junebug Red color. I did take some shiners on one trip and caught some fish up to 4 pounds. The bite seems to be real ...full report

The weather is warming as well as the water temperature on Orlando area lakes such as Lake Kissimmee and Lake Toho. We have been catching good numbers of fish with many in the 6-8lb range. With the full moon approaching look for bass moving into the shallows to spawn. Lipless crankbaits, Flukes, and various texas rigged soft plastics have been the best baits recently. The lakes are in great shape and ...full report

The full moon really is my favorite time to fish and the few days before it. It seems like I traded quantity for quality as I haven't got many fish, but the one I did land was a trophy 8lb3 oz-er. They were reluctant to hit the worms and soft plastics(even senkos). so I tried a crankbait. Thats what produced this ol gal. NO doubt about it...the wind can be a big pain in the butt!, and its windy. However it can also help an angler fish with the wind to your back, It helps you cast longer, therefore covering more area, leading to more chance of bites and catches.
