The fishing in and out of Martin, Palm Beach, and Broward counties is crazy awesome too. From Lake Okeechobee to the keys, the Southeast Region has been a fishing mecca for centuries, maybe?

We\\\'re doing a lot of deep drop fishing off Ft Lauderdale this week. We\\\'re catching some pretty cool stuff. With the surface water temperatures being so hot, it\\\'s sometimes good to go deep this time of year. Snappers and groupers are the main bottom fish that everyone knows. They are biting good on the deep wrecks, any wreck in 200+ feet of water should be holding some fish. ...full report

The weather has been very windy this week. It’s kept a lot of the small boats home and even some of the big boats. We’ve been fishing every day though and let me tell you, the fishing (and the catching) has been great! Dolphin, tuna, sailfish and more are biting. The reason? the strong easterly wind. A hard east wind gets the fish chewing. It blows the seaweed and debris in closer to the ...full report

There are some awesome fish biting on our fishing charters this week. I don’t know if it’s the time of year, the supermoon we just had or if there’s something in the water, but there are some unusual catches coming in this week. First off, the sailfish bite has been pretty good. This is the season when the sailfish start biting in good numbers and we haven’t even had any cold weather yet. ...full report

Nice catches this week on our drift and sport fishing charters. The action on the reef is red hot. Kingfish and tunas are biting really good and there are still some bonitos around as well. Summer is always the best season of the year for action in Ft Lauderdale. The bonito run , although starting to slow down a bit, has rejuvenated the abundance of fish on the reef. Every year, bonitos make a ...full report

Great action this week on the Fort Lauderdale reef. Bonitos, a gamefish species of tuna (non-edible) are solid on our reefs right now as they are embarking on their annual migration down our coastline. Bonitos are in the tuna family and are one of the strongest fish pound for pound in the ocean. Every summer, hundreds of thousands of bonitos make their way northward along our reefs, feeding on the ...full report

4- to 6-foot seas on the way to the fishing grounds makes for a rough trip. Capt. Ken advised me it would lay down before we would leave for home. It slowed down to 2 to 4 later. Capt. Ken knows his stuff. The first drop yielded many, many Blue Runners. Plenty of action at least. When we reached the next drop, it was slow picking and many short yellowtails. Capt. Ken said lines up for a move to the ...full report

Largemouth are bite are in the 3-5 lb. range. All along the cannal, the bass are hitting plastics, suspending jerk baits and jiggs. If you like fishing with live shinners, make a stop at coppers town and get some. Or even Dade Corners have live bait. Those two shops are on Tammiami Trail. ...full report
