Fishing Rods

Fishing rods vary in length and strain capabilities. Usually fishing rods will vary in size between 6 and 16 feet (2 and 5 m). This length advantage increase the amount of force which the fish exerts on the fishermans arms. Casting Reels

The Casting reel family includes reels that mounted perpendicular to the rod. Baitcasting and Fly reels are in this group/

Spinning Reels

Most, if not all, Spinning Reels are mounted and spin parallel to the rod. Closed spinning reels are primarily used by beginers who will usually move on to an open spinning reel as their skills develope.
