Venice Florida Saltwater Fishing Report

Captain Tom Masse

What a beautiful day we had deep sea fishing yesterday. The waves and the wind were perfect. We stopped at a local reef to load up on bait and the bait well was full in no time at all. My deckhand Bruce stated that the fishing was sure to be awesome with so many different kinds of bait just about jumping out of the water and into the live well. With the well full we headed out for a full day of offshore fishing that was nothing less than spectacular. At our first stop we dropped the anchor and sent a few bait to the bottom to see what we could pull up. As one of the anglers was reeling up a nice 5 lb mangrove snapper a school of schoolie dolphin came over to investigate what all the commotion was. Bruce quickly started chumming the water to keep their attention then threw a live sardine out to check their interest. Fish on! After we put 15 of these fine eating beauties in the box off to the next spot to hook up on a couple few monster amberjack. Now with our icebox sporting plenty of food we were off to a local barracuda hole for a little bit of Florida sportfishing. I don't know if you are familiar with Florida Ocean fishing but barracuda and June are synonymous. A great day of fishing was had by all and to think that I get to do it all again tomorrow. If you would like to book a Venice Florida deep sea fishing trip that you won't soon forget, visit my website at http://www.deepseafishing1.com and give me a call at 941-473-2188
