Captain Joe at Sorrento Bait and Tackle reports the Bluegill and Shell Cracker are going on the beds on all area lakes. Fish Crickets or Red Worms around docks and on the edges of grass and pads in residential canals and coves With the return of summer thunderstorms lots of runoff will flow out of feeder creeks and canals. Watch for schooling Bass feeding on insects and baitfish. Cast a Rat-L-Trap or noisy topwater bait to the schoolers. Sunshine Bass are schooling at the mouth of the Wekiva River chasing migrating shad. Best bet is medium shiners early morning. A mixed bag of Mullet, specks and bluegill are coming off the seawall at Crow's Bluff and the Sanford seawall on Lake Monroe, using the Sabiki Rig. For Bass fish shiners around docks and grass edges in the residential canals on the Harris Chain. A Rat-L-Trap works well for locating bass, use a fast retrieve near cover such as pads and edges of grass. Flip or cast a June Bug worm in the shaded banks of residential canals.
