Who said Big Bass don’t bite in Summer! I took my son-in law out fishing yesterday and what a crazy day. He is a big salt water flats fisherman so first cast on a small lake in the Haines City are he caught a 13 in. fish on a top water bait. We fished for 4 hrs. and caught 7 fish the largest one being about 2lbs. We decided to go home about 10:00 a.m. and regroup. After waiting until around 5:00 p.m. because of thundershowers in the area we decided to go back out somewhere close. It ended up being a great decision. We caught over 15 bass and missed several other fish the largest weighing 9 ¾ lbs. Our 5 largest weighing a total of 27 lbs. Fish top water spooks and soft jerk baits early in the morning changing to rattling lures mid morning. After the evening showers fish sinko type soft plastic in june bug and watermelon red and buzz baits if the fish are active. Always be aware of the thunder and lightning and get off the lake if you need to. These patterns should hold up for the next couple of months now we are in the rainy season.

Great Fishing!
