Lake June-in-Winter
07/24/08 7:22 AM
bahc

The Bass Anglers of Hardee County fished their monthly tournament 7/20/08 on Lake June. 22 Teams were present and quite a few fish were caught, the majority of the teams caught their 5 fish limits. Team James won with 12.50lbs and Team AJ had Big Fish 6.49lbs.. Once again it was sweltering hot but at least there was a steady breeze most of the day. Fish were caught mostly on plastic worms in several different types of cover. Everyone I talked to said they caught fish steadily most of the day but the best bite was early morning. The Jet Ski and boat traffic seemed to either move the fish to shore cover or to deep water. I would suggest if you were going to fish Lake June on a weekend to do it in the cooler months or during the week when water craft traffic would be minimized.
