Harris Chain, Lake Monroe

Crappie fishing on Lake Monroe is still HOT!!

Captain Joe caught 40 nice Specks up to 2 lb on Pink and Gold Zip jigs and ice jigs in glow pink tipped with minnows tight lining a drift rig . The fish are moving into shallow water to spawn. Captain Lynda caught several fish over 15 inches in front of the Sanford Marina.

Lake Jessup has also been producing some limits in shallow water around Cypress trees. For Bass, fish Shiners around docks and grass edges in the residential canals on the Harris Chain. Bass are going on the beds in most area lakes. A Rat-L-Trap works well for locating Bass, use a fast retrieve near cover such as pads and edges of grass.

Also look for schoolers around the mouth of feeder creeks in the St John's river. Flip or cast a June Bug worm in the shaded banks of residential canals and under docks.
