 | Lake Gibson - Lakeland
06/04/09 9:26 AM Restless Native | Very active schooling Bass found almost everywhere. Shad are very plentiful. The water is still pretty clean and clear so keep an eye on the birds as they will tell you when they are over a school of bait.
The two patterns that have produced for me are white pearl jerk baits with 1/8th ounce weight. I have also had great luck with frog lures in the pads on the north side of the lake and around the canal openings.
I have even used the frog over a feeding frenzy and landed serveral larger fish with the frog. Average size of fish between 13"-17" and have landed one that was 21" on the frog pattern in open water.
Anyone wanting to go give it a try I am always looking for a new fishing buddy!
