patrick rood | To my surprise earlier in the week my wife asked me to take her fishing on Saturday. I am always stoked when this happens. The day started with me doing everything I could to get her out of bed but throw water on her. But I do have to say she is a trooper to get up that early and fight the skeeters and also put up with my guide mentality. We were having a blast pitching live Pigfish to pot holes and shorelines for Trout. When the sun got a little higher in the sky we proceeded to target some schools of Redfish. We pulled a few out of the schools but they got lock jaw very quickly so we started targeting some singles and it was game on. The biggest advantage we had was fishing out of a ECC Lostmen because we could get on flats that most others couldn't due to the full moon tides this weekend. I can honestly say my wife threw the smack down on me six Redfish and four quality Trout to my three trout "ouch".
