Aripeka To Chazz Fishing Report

capt josh
Well the water temp is now in the mid 60's to low 70's but the Redfish are still chewing good through out the day. On windy days look in the creeks that litter the nature coast I find on windy days the Reds tend to move in the creeks and small coves. We have been having good success on white bait, large shrimp, and Pinfish they really havent been to picky yet. Work the mangrove shorelines and oyster bars keep an eye out for jumping Mullet and nervous water the Reds are in large schools from Aripeka to Chazz. I prefer the high outgoing tide for Redfish and a good incoming for Trout. The Spotted Seatrout are just killing anything you present to them I always use topwaters lures in the morning for Reds and Trout I cant get over the explosion on a topwater. 95% of the time I will have my clients start of with a loud topwater like a Rapala Skitter Walk my favorite is the Mullet pattern, pink with silver sides, and the Redfish pattern. But I will mix the lures up as well one guy with a mirro-lure shedog and the other with a skitter walk. As the sun gets higher in the sky, I switch to a subsurface bait I perfer the sebile twich bait they are awesome any sebile has produce BIG Reds. And depending on the water clarity for a jerkbait I like Berkly Gulp pearl white, rootbeer, and new penny are the ones I use most of the time. PRECISION TACLKE is the best tackle shop thay have all your tackle needs. The main line I use is 10lb power-pro then for a leader I use suffix 20-30lb I tie them with a uni to uni knot and I always tie all my hooks and lures with a loop knot the loop knot allows the live bait to swim freely and gives the lures more life like action. Spanish Mackerel are all over the flats from 3 feet to 12 feet. And the Grouper are on FIRE any depth of water is producing some big Gags I would use dead bait like Threadfins, bosten mackerel, and Mullet. The water temp is perfect right now and I suspect it to stay this way through December. The fishing is fantastic right now so book a fishing trip with Capt.Josh and lets catch some big fish.
