Central Florida Area Lakes
12/23/09 8:51 AM
Florida Bass Adventures
The bite is on for most of the Lakes in the Area. Surface activity is almost a given for us this time of year and can be lots of fun first thing in the morning.

The Conway Chain of Lakes may be the best bet for numbers especially during and after the cold fronts. Zara Spooks, soft jerkbaits, spoons and hard jerkbaits are all excellent choices on this chain. 50 fish days are very possible but size will be in the 1-2lb range for 90% of the fish caught.

The Butler Chain should be doing as well but many reports coming out of the Butler chain are false. The fishing is good but schooling activity is not what it should be for the entire chain. If you find schoolers stay on them but beware as they are very spooky and after the schooling activity subsides expect to slow down your presentations.

Lake Toho is fishing very tough except for certain areas. With the hydrilla dying off the fishing will be hit or miss for a few weeks.

Beware of guides posting bogus reports or making claims of being "trophy bass guides". There are some very reputable guides in the Central Florida area but there are some hurting the reputation that those guides have worked so hard for. Capt. Dean and Capt. Eddie Bussard are two that I would personally vouch for any day on their reports. Any one else, well all I can recommend is that you look closely at their site and the photos they provide. A picture says a thousand words. At Florida Bass Adventures we don't accept little fish as should be expected from any Professional Guide.

Good Luck and good fishing.

Steve Boyd is the owner and sole guide representing Florida Bass Adventures Guide Service in Orlando Florida since 2003. Sponsored by Dobyns Rods and Luckycraft Lures.
