Ft. Pierce Inshore - Offshore Report

INSHORE

The inshore fishing has slowed down a little due to the windy conditions but things did improve over the weekend. The best bite has been from the Black Drum and Croakers. Try around the area bridges and in the Ft. Pierce Inlet. Most of these fish are being caught on a live shrimp. The catch and release Snook action remains steady in the Ft. Pierce Inlet for anglers fishing live baits on the end of the falling tide. I did have reports of a good school of Redfish up around the Round Island area but, they were easily spooked and not feeding much. The only Reds caught were taken on cut Ladyfish. Look for scattered Pompano to the south of the City Marina and they were taking small live shrimp or sand fleas. There are still plenty of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish in the Turning Basin to keep you busy.

OFFSHORE

The sea conditions have not been that great but for the bigger boats the reports have been all about the sailfish. It has been starting in about 100 feet of water. Also, there have been a good number of Dolphin reported in the same area and both have been taking Ballyhoo. The Kingfish have been in 60 to 80 feet of water and we did have quite a few come into the docks over the weekend. The biggest one was 28 pounds and they caught them on live baits. Look for plenty of action from the Spanish Mackerel, Jacks and Bluefish along the beaches. If the seas are down and you go and try your luck -- go to the Boils -- there has been plenty of Redfish, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish down there.

TEEN ANGLERS
