Grouper fishing off Hernando Beach has been outstanding in the shallow reefs in 35 feet of water. We have caught some Kingfish this week, and Spanish Mackerel. Legal size Amberjack way offshore are ready to be caught and are in large schools. The last few trips to the wrecks have been very successful; we caught Big Jacks, Grouper, and American Red Snapper. Forecast: More Gag and Red Grouper as the water continues to warm up. Kingfish and Spanish Mackerel will increase in numbers as the bait schools work their way north through our area. We will start catching Cobias any day now. They are overdue, but like always they will show up and we will catch them.
