30" Redfish
6-14-2010 Aripeka
Fishing is great right now with a lot of rod bending action. Redfish are on the outside points along mangroves and oyster bars target the Reds on a high out going tide in the morning with cut Greenbacks and Pinfish for bait. Also topwater action is good as well, a Rapala Skitter walk works great or a white jerk bait rigged weedless. I took my parents out this Monday for some of this action and my dad caught a 30 inch Red on a live Greenback what a fight he had.

The Trout are out in 9-12 feet the way I target the Trout is to use a 1/4oz jig with a Gulp shrimp bouncing across the bottom puts fish in the boat also there are other fish in the same areas such as Sea Bass, Sharks, Cobia, Mackerel, Ladyfish, and Gag Grouper. I always put out a flat line with a live Pinfish or a Greenback you never know what will hit a flat line.

Scallop season is starting early this year the season starts on JUNE 19 thats this Saturday make sure you are flying a divers-down flag and for those who are not scalloping you need to keep a 300 feet distance away from any boat with people in the water safety first, look for scallops in 4-8 feet on mix bottom.
