North of the Cruise Terminals on SR401 is a great place to put in a canoe, kayak or rowboat and slay Redfish, Black Drum, Trout, Snook & Catfish. There are many puffers chewing plastic lure like madness. So, make sure to bring lots of spares.

Lake Loughman View Larger Map
This 600 acre waterway is a unique mix of freshwater flow from the St. Johns River and salt water, flowing from a saltwater spring. Lying just east of the river, this very shallow lake (5 ft at most) is home to a mixed bag os species as well. Fly fisherman come to target shad and herring, while some target panfish, croaker and the likes, while others target bass or grouper (if the conditions are right). Public access can be gained via the ramp off SR 46.

St. Johns River View Larger Map
All along this river and its lakes it connects, lake Beresford (800 acres), Lake Woodruff (2,200 acres) and Lake Dexter (1,902 acres) produce excellent catches of largemouth bass, striped bass, sunshine bass, crappie, and bream. Look along runs of vegetation and along structure as this is where the fish hole up. Also look for the mouth of Sringrun creek and Get-Out creek, where the rivers and creeks meet for schooling fish.
