Quit at 3pm. 12 Boats in club tournament. It seemed all but 2 boats headed upstream. The results were as follows. 36 Bass caught, 1st place 10.8 for 3 Bass. They looked like footballs. 2nd place 10.1 for 5 Bass. Big Bass was 4 even. Lipless crankbaits (chrome/black) ripped through the grass seemed to be the lure of choice with best results. Anglers said you'd pick up 1 here & there. Winds were 20-30 mph, air temp 70, water temp 59-61. Personally did not see any beds yet. F16 Recreation Fishing Information North Central Region Mon, 18 Jan 2010 09:03:11 -0500 North Central Region: CFLFR Launched at Peaceful Acres at 9:30am. Water temps ranged from 46-50. Threw everything and fished shallow to 30'. Never got a hit and quit at 4pm. Although this was my first time on Rousseau it reminded me of northern lakes. Unfortunately so did the bite. Fished mainly from the ramp to the dam. Will concentrate on the other end next visit. Was bothered by smoke and ashes from a major brush fire. I did return to the ramp to find out the results of an 11 boat tournament. No surprise that only 3 fish weighed in with winning weight 2.6. We'll get em next time. F16 F16 Recreation Fishing Information North Central Region Thu, 14 Jan 2010 13:23:59 -0500 North Central Region: CFLFR Rousseau is full of hydrilla and hycinth's again! Floating all over the place. We put in at peaceful acres and started toward the river. Tried everything and couldn't boat a keeper. Finally hit a spot up by the barge canal on the other end of rousseau and really got on them! Caught 4 fish over 3 lb's in an hour! . Still lot's of grass up there too but the bait fish were everywhere. Caught some on rattle traps ( pain fishing it in the grass but it's worth it) hitting the holes in the hydrilla.
